This lead to a number of communication issues especially in high pressure situations .I picked up the audio book and was floored . this book is masterfully written and the suggestion Julian makes all work they are not puff pop psychology they are legitimate skills that can turn you into the person in the everyone listens to in the room. These skills take practice especially avoiding the deadly sins of speech but the results are incredible.I was able to obtain employment in a customer facing role that I was woefully under qualified for, the interviewers all felt that at the end of the day they I was the one they kept coming back too. They said my communication was the most memorable.This book will improve your life. I also recommend Amy Cuddy's Presence . This book mention her and I followed up from there.

Love his routine to do before a speech. Very easy to follow. Some of it is not super useful, but interesting throughout.

Bruce Ballenger, a professor of English at Boise State University, teaches courses in composition, composition theory, the essay tradition, and creative nonfiction. He’s the author of seven books, including the three texts in the Curious series: The Curious Researcher, The Curious Reader, and The Curious Writer, all from Pearson Education. His latest book is  Crafting Truth: Short Studies in Creative Nonfiction, is also from the same publisher. Ballenger lives with his wife and two daughters in Boise, Idaho.
